How to add payment gateways in WordPress with Stripe
First, you’ll need to install and activate the Formidable Forms WordPress plugin to integrate a payment gateway to a WordPress website.
To access Stripe, you need the Stripe add-on, available in Formidable’s Business plan or above.
Then, it’s four easy steps:
Step 1: Install the Stripe add-on
To start your setup for your payment gateway in WordPress, you’ll need the Stripe add-on. To get your Stripe add-on, go to Formidable → Add-ons, search for Stripe, and install it.
Next, head to Formidable → Settings → Stripe. Scroll down and select the Connect to Stripe button.
You’ll redirect to the Stripe website to log in and set up your details.
Follow Stripe’s prompts to connect your account and return to your WordPress dashboard.
Step 2: Create your Stripe payment form
So we’ve used WordPress to integrate your payment gateway service.
Now, we need to create your form for payment. So, go to Formidable → Forms.
At the top of the page, click Add New to start creating your form. You can select to make your form from scratch using a Blank Form or choose one of our 100+ templates to get started.
We’ll use a Stripe form template for this example since it’s done most of our hard work. We chose the Credit Card Payment template, but feel free to choose whatever suits your business needs.
After you choose your form and name it, the plugin will take you to our simple drag-and-drop form builder.
Feel free to add fields like email addresses, dropdowns, or other options. Simply click, and drag, and it’ll add to the form.
Once you’ve added all your fields, click Update to save your changes.
Step 3: Set up your Stripe settings
Now that you’ve created your form, it’s time to learn how to set up a payment gateway in WordPress with Stripe.
Once your form is saved, click the Settings page at the top of the form builder.
Next, choose Actions & Notifications and choose Collect a Payment. These are your Stripe settings, and you can adjust them to collect a one-time or recurring payment, what currency to accept, and more.

Simply enable Link by Stripe, and it’ll automatically ask your customer for their information when they enter their email during checkout.
